Restarting Servers
- Only known servers can run LIVE Services - register a new server here. There may also need to be a known gateway and/or known fileserver on the local network. A fileserver needs certain data pre-loaded.
- If necessary initiate a shutdown by briefly pressing the power button. To avoid pre-shutdown actions and shut down immediately just cut the power supply - this is safe only if there are no attached disk drives. Please do not force a shutdown using the power button because pre-shutdown actions will be started but may not have time to complete satisfactorily.
- Boot a backend database server using a CD or USB stick labelled LS1/LS2. This is all you need do at a satellite office.
- Media are released automatically when no longer required. This is indicated by ejection of the CD tray. Satellite servers have an indicator light which is extinguished on completion of startup procedures.
- Boot a frontend web server also using a CD or USB stick labelled LS1/LS2.
- Check server status at https://brerc.info/live/BRERC/
- GeoServer admin is at https://brerc.info/geoserver/
- PostgreSQL admin is at https://brerc.info/omnidb/
